Welcome to Grecoed, a place devoted to the Greco Guitar, made in Japan from the 60's to the 90's.... and some other shiny things that catch my eye.

How it all started....

Some time ago whilst browsing in the finest guitar store in all Queensland (Tym Guitars) I chanced upon a Greco TD500 I had a strum and loved it. Now I'd never seen or played a Greco before and ummed then agghed then left the shop.

A few weeks later I suggested to my mate Dave he should go have a look at it as it was a beast of a guitar and worthy of consideration.

Low and behold he bought it.

Now I'm still kinda cut about this but looking on the bright side it set me on a course of finding out why this guitar was so good.

Several years later I'm still addicted.

So after much trawling through the internet, buying over priced catalogues from the past three decades, ebaying 'Greco' most mornings (sad?), translating low res scans (don't bother it doesn't work) and a pilgrimage to Japan I thought it might be high time to collate the information and publish on the vastness of the web.

So sit back and enjoy but most of all contribute... if you see any glaring omissions, incomplete catalogues, lies or half truths please email me and I'll endeavor to rectify. Or if you should have a stash of catalogues, advertising, manuals, booklets or even 'love cards' I haven't got, please scan and send. Same goes for any information relating to Greco artist endorsements.

If you want the odd email with updates to the site, Grecos for sale, odd pedals and odder amps then join the Greco Army.

If you have a Greco you want to sell I'll put it in the shop and from time to time I'll even sell one or two of my own.

Cheers,

Hugh
